Exciting Opportunity for a Customs Specialist
Grafton Recruitment is delighted to be working with a leading Logistics business in Hull who are seeking a highly knowledgeable and experienced Customs Specialist to join their team and play a vital role in ensuring compliance with Customs regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all import/export operations comply with national and international customs laws, tariffs, and regulations.
- Coordinate planned activities with Logistics, Plants, and Warehouses, Transportation Partners.
- Prepare, review, and process necessary customs documentation, including import/export declarations, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
- Stay updated on changes in customs regulations, trade agreements, and industry trends.
- Perform due diligence activities associated with screening process of Third Parties with the ability to check at transactional level.
- Determine import/export controls EUR1, GSP, ATR, COO, End Use, IPR, OPR, Import/Export Licences applicable to the order and coordinate with the trade compliance team as needed;
Requirements:
- Two or more years of experience in handling all aspects of Customs experience within the Logistics and Supply Chain industry.
- Attention to details – Exceptional accuracy in handling documentation and compliance matters.
- Strong Communication Skills.
- Fluency in English written and spoken.
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in import and export.
- Experience in developing work procedures and written instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret government regulations.
