Key Responsibilities
As a Lead Mobile Software Engineer (Flutter) at Camascope, you will play a crucial role in scaling, enhancing, and introducing new features to our primary EMAR product. You will collaborate closely with a team of engineers focused on both advancing the product architecture and integrating new functionalities. As a core contributor, you will engage with cross-functional teams and various internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality software as we continue to refine and expand our successful care and medication solutions.
We are looking for individuals who are exceptional communicators, proactive collaborators, and capable of deconstructing complex requirements to design and develop sensible, modern, and scalable software solutions. We seek experienced and adaptable senior mobile application engineers who can start with a streamlined approach to problem-solving in code and evolve it into a fully-featured, well-architected solution that performs effectively and can be adapted as the products develop and new needs arise. You will also set the standard for our work processes and enhance the capabilities of other team members.
Responsibilities Include:
- Act as a vital member of a cross-functional engineering team while also collaborating with other teams on the overall software ecosystem.
- Design, develop, and implement new functionalities and features, or enhance existing ones, utilizing appropriate technologies and methodologies.
- Prioritize our customers and care home patients in every aspect of our development.
- Maintain a strong emphasis on continuous delivery, ensuring that testing and security measures are integrated into CI/CD pipelines, and promote the development of secure, scalable, high-quality software through the adoption of DevSecOps practices and tools.
- Continuously improve our application by identifying and addressing blockers, impediments, deficiencies, and waste.
- Contribute significantly to technical and product decisions, as well as the technology roadmap.
- Foster a culture of learning and mentorship within the team.
- Oversee the complete software development lifecycle from initial coding to production, including testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Collaborate in an agile, team-oriented environment with other Engineers, Designers, and Product Managers to achieve product objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a Mobile Application Engineer (Flutter).
- In-depth knowledge of mobile application development frameworks, libraries, and tools, particularly within the Flutter ecosystem.
- Ability to optimize application performance, memory usage, and overall efficiency.
- Strong understanding of software design and architectural principles.
- Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills with a proactive and learning-oriented mindset.
- Familiarity with the Android and iOS ecosystems.
- Comfortable working with Agile/Scrum methodologies and mentoring your team on best practices.
- Understanding of the test pyramid and the engineer's role in testing.
- Experience leading or significantly influencing software feature design and/or delivery.
- Comprehensive understanding of designing and developing for various devices and device variants (screen sizes, formats, and OS versions).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in early-stage startups or scale-ups.
- Background in healthcare or pharmacy technology.
- Hands-on experience with Kotlin (for Android) and/or React Native (for applications).
- Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
