Job Overview

Position: Application Security Consultant

Location: London (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and collaborative training on secure coding practices to development teams.
  • Provide expertise in Threat Modelling to empower developers to conduct their own threat assessments and offer advanced support when needed.
  • Configure and deploy security tools in an automated fashion within CI/CD pipelines.
  • Identify and assess risks associated with development activities, proposing effective mitigating controls.
  • Work alongside development teams to formulate strategies for addressing vulnerabilities identified through SAST, DAST, SCA, vulnerability scanning, and API security tools.
  • Stay updated on security trends in the development field to effectively counteract emerging threats.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a related position.
  • In-depth understanding of OWASP Top 10 and CWE Top 25.
  • Extensive familiarity with IDE security tools.
  • Proficient in API security best practices and OWASP API Top 10.
  • Ability to script for pipeline automation and security stage gate development.
  • Solid understanding of major cloud providers and current network and client operating systems.
  • Proven experience in developing business processes and managing business office operations.
  • Ability to leverage IT solutions to address business challenges.
  • Skilled in presenting concepts in both business-friendly and user-friendly terms.
  • Highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
