About the Role
University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a skilled Sleep Technician to join our Paediatric Respiratory Sleep Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting our overnight sleep service, working closely with patients, parents, and healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct overnight sleep studies on elective admissions or acute inpatients, ensuring accurate data collection and troubleshooting equipment as needed.
- Support patients and their parents on the night of their study, providing guidance and reassurance as required.
- Download and analyze data, identifying any artefacts and ensuring accurate marking of sleep periods.
- Collaborate with the team to maintain high standards of patient care and safety.
Requirements
- Relevant experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a paediatric or respiratory role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, parents, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and record-keeping.
