Position Overview
As a vital member of our People Services Team, the Talent and Retention Officer will play a key role in enhancing our charity's workforce by facilitating the onboarding process for new hires and addressing various HR-related inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Collaborate with the People Services Business Partner (PBP) to manage recruitment efforts, ensuring all vacancies are properly authorized and processed in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Conduct thorough vetting of candidates, including reference checks and criminal record assessments, to maintain a high standard of recruitment.
  • Assist in the induction process for new employees, ensuring they receive comprehensive support during their probationary period.
  • Maintain regular communication with managers regarding current and future staffing needs to provide effective service across departments.

General HR Support

  • Conduct exit interviews when appropriate to gather insights on staff retention.
  • Support the PBP in managing capability meetings and probationary reviews.
  • Assist with disciplinary and grievance matters as needed.
  • Monitor staff sickness absence and ensure accurate record-keeping.

HR Records Management

  • Maintain and update the computerized database and manual personnel records in compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Ensure all new staff records are initiated promptly and that the Finance Department receives necessary information for payroll processing.
  • Handle reference requests and maintain records for relief and bank staff.
