Position Requirement – Senior Cost Consultant

In light of recent growth, the organization is keen to enhance its team by recruiting experienced Senior Cost Consultants, primarily to work on client sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer expert guidance and support to project teams on contractual and commercial matters, including contract interpretation, timely communication, and claims resolution.
  • Advise team members on the contractual and legal implications of various project strategies and decisions.
  • Identify and manage contractual risks and opportunities, ensuring all contractual documents are complete, properly communicated, and securely stored.
  • Oversee the procurement process for work packages.
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and related documents as required in daily operations.
  • Administer assigned contracts in accordance with established policies and procedures, including payment applications, change events, and final account preparations.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Finance and Project Controls.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all contract communications, ensuring compliance with required timelines.
  • Support project managers in managing assigned contracts and facilitate interactions and claims with project teams and contributors.
  • Monitor contract performance and alert management to any potential commercial or contractual issues or deadlines.
  • Prepare and oversee accurate Monthly Reports as necessary.
  • Ensure knowledge retention and transfer, conducting lessons learned reviews to foster continuous improvement.
  • Lead and mentor a small team in delivering contract and commercial management services, providing guidance to junior members.

Candidate Profile

Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • A BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying or a related qualification.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • A robust background in Quantity Surveying within the construction sector, with experience in either consultancy or contracting roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering infrastructure projects, including Energy, Nuclear, Utilities, Bridges, Highways, and Rail.
  • Significant expertise in contract management.
