About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Scrub Nurse/Practitioner to join our friendly and expert multidisciplinary theatre team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the continual cleanliness of the theatre and equipment, developing and executing procedures for ordering and transferring blood and blood products, and acting as an advocate for patients during the intra-operative phase.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the cleanliness of the theatre and equipment
  • Develop and execute procedures for ordering and transferring blood and blood products
  • Act as an advocate for patients during the intra-operative phase
  • Provide total patient care in the perioperative phase

Requirements

  • Registered NMC Nurse with experience as a scrub practitioner in a theatre, or an HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioner
  • Knowledge and experience of working with an orthopaedic team
  • Experience of major Orthopaedic surgery
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current research and developments in theatre practice
  • Sound knowledge of Health and Safety/Risk management within the operating department
