Position Overview

MCS Group is pleased to collaborate with a prominent pensions organization in their search for a Lead Pension Scheme Administrator to enhance their accomplished team.

This position is offered on a permanent basis with flexible working options, including remote work, while occasional office access may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

In the role of Lead Pension Scheme Administrator, you will oversee and uphold the administrative functions of both defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans on behalf of the trustees. You will serve as the primary contact for scheme participants, trustees, and various external parties, while also providing guidance and review for junior administrators. Our team engages in a diverse range of activities, from scheme wind-ups and pension benefit calculations to conducting thorough research for schemes, all while delivering exceptional service to our members.

You will cultivate a client portfolio, managing all necessary transactions for their pension schemes, ensuring completion to the highest standards and within established service levels. As a key liaison for pension members and clients, you will address inquiries through both verbal and written communication and participate in trustee meetings. Your role will involve delivering clear and precise information to members and beneficiaries.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of pensions, with a minimum of five years' experience in a Defined Benefit pension administration setting, along with a thorough understanding of defined benefit pension schemes and UK pensions legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
  • Proficiency in software applications, including Microsoft Office and Windows.
  • Experience in managing both ad-hoc and annual pension-related projects.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey current and relevant issues to scheme members, pension trustees, and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work proactively and independently to complete tasks.
  • Capability to thrive in a dynamic environment, providing outstanding service to clients and external parties, with a commitment to achieving challenging goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with GMP Reconciliation and Equalisation calculations.
  • Practical understanding of the Pension Protection Fund (PPF).

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with additional hours as necessary.
