Early Years Development Leader - Developmental Programme for 2-3 Year Olds

If so, Strabane Sure Start is seeking dedicated individuals to join our multidisciplinary team as Leaders within our Developmental Programmes for 2-3 year olds.

  • Essential Qualifications:
  • Possess an NVQ Level 5 in Childcare, Learning and Development or equivalent qualification, such as a Degree in Early Childhood Studies.
  • Demonstrate relevant experience working with children aged 0-4 years.

Our Developmental Programme for 2-3 year olds caters to children in their pre-preschool year. The programme aims to support families and empower children to develop enhanced language skills, improve physical development, foster social and emotional growth, cultivate greater independence, increase attention span and concentration, ultimately helping them reach their full potential.

A strong understanding of child development, coupled with excellent observation and written communication skills, is crucial for accurately recording and monitoring progress. You will create action plans, conduct reviews, and generate reports tailored to individual children's needs.

Your responsibilities will encompass collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including external agencies, to enhance health and social development. This includes home visiting, family support, assisting children with additional needs, befriending initiatives, and signposting resources. You will also play a vital role in nurturing early relationships between parents and children.

The setting adheres to Early Years registration standards and undergoes regular inspections. Maintaining these standards and ensuring all paperwork is up-to-date is essential. As a leader, you will supervise Early Years Assistants and prioritize safeguarding, upholding a duty of care for all children in the setting by adhering to policies and procedures that ensure their safety at all times.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Access NI with Child Barred List check.
