Opus People Solutions is collaborating with a local authority to find an interim Financial Services Manager for Adult Social Care. This pivotal role involves spearheading the enhancement of financial systems and processes within the Adult Social Care sector while overseeing the finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will adhere to and advocate for the Council's Health, Wellbeing, and Safety at Work policies, ensuring effective implementation within their areas of responsibility.
  • A primary focus for the Council is safeguarding vulnerable individuals, enabling them to maintain independence. The candidate will actively support the Council's commitment to protecting the welfare of children, young people, and adults.
  • Through dedicated involvement and decisive actions, the candidate will promote the Council's employment policies, emphasizing diversity, equal access, and fair treatment in employment, service delivery, and community engagement.
  • Ensure that the services provided align with the Council's strategy, vision, objectives, and continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to their achievement. This includes compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
  • As the service lead for Social Care Financial Services, the candidate will manage the interdependencies among various service areas, including Financial Assessments, Client Welfare Services, and Commissioned Care Services Payments.
  • Responsible for initiating transformational change and developing a strategic vision, operational plans, and business strategies for the Social Care Financial Service.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for services encompassing Community and Residential Care financial assessments, Deferred payments, Direct payments, Independent Personal Budgets, and more.
  • Accountable for the effective management of the service portfolio.
  • Oversee the development of a performance framework aligned with service delivery and benefits realization.
  • Offer technical expertise and professional support in financial assessments, payments, and brokerage of commissioned services.
  • Strategically manage the Appointee ship and Deputyship team, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Review and enhance systems and processes to support the Directorate in adopting digital solutions and best practices in preparation for upcoming reforms.
