We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Maintenance Technician to become a vital part of our Maintenance team.
Position Overview: The successful candidate will be engaged in a full-time role, working 40 hours per week. Initially, the working hours will be from 08:00 to 16:00, Monday to Friday; however, flexibility to cover a rotating shift pattern and weekends is essential.
Compensation: The base salary for this position is £43,931 per annum.
Role Responsibilities: As a key member of the Maintenance Department, you will collaborate closely with the Maintenance Leadership Team to ensure that all machinery operates safely and meets production and quality standards. Your focus will be on enhancing Safety, Quality, and Overall Efficiency within the department, particularly through maintenance activities.
Your expertise will be crucial in diagnosing and resolving electrical issues on PLC-controlled machinery in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Familiarity with AC/DC motors and Servo Drive systems is advantageous. The role also requires the ability to perform electrical installation tasks.
Main Duties Include:
- Repairing and maintaining electrical systems, equipment, and components as necessary.
- Diagnosing faults in automated electrical systems using PLC diagnostic skills.
- Conducting fault finding and diagnostics on network systems at the machine level, with IT department support.
- Performing regular preventative maintenance testing on electrical systems and components.
- Assisting fellow electrical and mechanical team members in completing maintenance tasks.
- Ensuring all electrical components in the designated area are functioning correctly.
- Adhering to all safety regulations and norms.
- Completing assigned tasks as directed by the supervisor.
- Following standard operating procedures diligently.
- Participating in relevant training and development opportunities.
- Providing training and mentorship to apprentices.
Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will thrive in a team-oriented environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the initiative to tackle challenges. Previous experience in a modern, high-volume manufacturing setting is preferred. Candidates must be time-served, with 17th/18th Edition qualifications being highly desirable.
Essential Qualifications:
- Time-served electrical engineer with relevant technical qualifications.
- HNC qualified or possess a minimum of 3 years of industrial experience.
- 17th/18th Edition qualification is preferred.

- Strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication and people management skills.
- Solid technical knowledge of processes and machinery.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Resilient and effective under pressure.
- Good organizational and IT skills.
- Ability to interpret electrical control drawings.
- Familiarity with Siemens PLC control (Step7, TIA Portal).
- Knowledge of Siemens Sinamics drive control (S120, G120).
- Understanding of industrial communication systems.
- Proficient in diagnosing AC/DC motor faults.
