About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial Accounting Manager to join Aviva's Investment, Wealth, and Retirement ('IWR') Financial Accounting Operations team. The role is a great opening to be part of a team that is integral in supporting the delivery of the IFRS and Solvency II (SII) results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the IWR Accounting process and report into the UK IWR Head of Accounting Production and Balance Sheet Control.
  • Deliver timely and insightful outputs to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Produce high-quality reporting with supporting analysis to identify underlying drivers and offer business insight.
  • Operate and enhance financial and operational controls to safeguard customer and shareholder interests.
  • Focus on process optimisation, simplification, and standardisation.
  • Lead investigations within reporting and act as a key SME resource on projects.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders across Finance and the IWR Business.
Requirements
  • Experience in a financial reporting role within financial services or Life Assurance accounting.
  • Sound knowledge of financial reporting processes/architecture with knowledge of IFRS 17 and Solvency II.
  • Excellent analytical skills and proactive drive to identify and investigate variances.
  • Strong people management skills with experience of managing teams and developing individuals.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Qualified accountant with relevant post-qualification experience.

  • Circa £75,000 salary (location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
