Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in researching the cost of materials, transport, labor, and equipment for our clients in the construction industry.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with contractors and vendors, obtaining quotes from suppliers and contractors within a specified timeframe, and assessing the risk levels associated with a project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and estimate the cost of materials, transport, labor, and equipment for construction projects
  • Establish and maintain relationships with contractors and vendors
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers and contractors within a specified timeframe
  • Assess the risk levels associated with a project
  • Prepare and submit quotations and details of costs for work to be done
  • Assist with bids for new contracts and support the activities of buyers
  • Monitor the costs at different stages of a project to ensure it stays within the estimated costs

Requirements

  • Experience in the construction industry, preferably with a main contractor
  • Experience in using Conquest, MS Excel, and Causway
  • Ability to price jobs independently and understand the tender process
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
