Assistant Culinary Manager

Sodexo presents an exciting opportunity for a skilled Assistant Culinary Manager to become part of our dedicated team, serving our esteemed clients in Cambridge.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality meals that meet our standards and are served promptly, thereby upholding the Company's esteemed reputation. You will prepare menu items daily, ensuring that the kitchen and all associated areas maintain the highest hygiene standards, with all necessary documentation completed accurately.

The Assistant Culinary Manager will ensure that all food preparation adheres to HACCP and Sodexo guidelines, maintaining accurate records to guarantee that customers receive timely and efficient service. You will also assist the Head Chef with inventory management and support any events or functions that may arise, which may require flexibility in your schedule, along with performing related administrative tasks and participating in training sessions for junior kitchen staff.

Candidate Profile

Essential experience and knowledge for this position:

  • Minimum of 2 years' relevant culinary experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Competency in basic mathematics
  • Demonstrates Service Spirit, Team Spirit, and Spirit of Progress
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster good relationships with customers, clients, and colleagues
  • Openness to receiving and implementing training from Sodexo and clients
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Proactively identifies and communicates potential issues to the Head Chef or Sous Chef
  • Maintains a professional appearance with a strong focus on personal hygiene
  • Passionate about food and customer service
  • Team-oriented with the ability to thrive under pressure

Required Qualifications:

  • 706/1 & 706/2 or equivalent (Essential)
  • Food Safety Certification
  • Health & Safety Certification
  • Food Allergen Training
