About the Company

Harcourt Matthews is a prominent UK specialist in Business Services & Investment Partnerships, dedicated to delivering projects and services across a diverse range of Public Private Partnership investments. As part of our continuous growth and the expansion of our investment portfolio, we are seeking a Valuation Analyst to join our team. This role is ideal for a graduate with a 2:1 or higher and 1-3 years of relevant analytical experience, particularly with strong Excel modelling capabilities. You will play a crucial role in providing analytical support from both project and portfolio perspectives.

Key Responsibilities of the Investment Valuation Analyst


• Conduct quarterly updates of project and fund models, including the production of discounted cash flow valuations and internal rate of returns (IRRs).


• Review modelling input assumptions and present recommendations for adjustments.


• Lead the development of valuation reporting packs for pertinent funds.


• Research political and economic factors impacting the portfolio and compile findings from the broader team.


• Assist with investor, debt, and regulatory reporting obligations.


• Support the external audit processes of individual funds and liaise with independent valuation advisors.


• Collaborate with the asset management team to identify and model opportunities for value enhancement.


• Work alongside fund managers to assist with dividend cover analysis and other fund management tasks.


• Monitor announcements from peer-listed funds and summarize key insights for the team.


• Present quarterly valuation outcomes to senior stakeholders within the organization.


• Review analyses conducted by other team members.

Skills & Attributes of the Investment Valuation Analyst


• A university graduate with a minimum 2:1 degree from a reputable institution.


• 2-4 years of post-university experience in a relevant role, ideally with a focus on the renewable energy sector.


• Proficient in financial modelling, with the ability to understand, review, evaluate, and manage financial models effectively.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of presenting complex financial information clearly and concisely.


• A strong team player who values collaboration and understands the importance of building robust connections across the organization.


• Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.


• Proficient report writing skills, capable of producing clear and concise documents for both internal and external purposes.


• Strong attention to detail.
