Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled Otolaryngology Consultant to become a vital member of our esteemed ENT department. The successful candidate will engage in collaborative efforts across various healthcare facilities, ensuring the delivery of comprehensive ENT services. This role is structured for 10 sessions weekly, with potential for additional hours based on service demands. A diverse background in general ENT is essential, and we encourage any subspecialty interests.
Key Responsibilities
The Consultant will be an integral part of the ENT team, dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. Responsibilities include:
- Delivering outpatient, emergency, day-case, and inpatient services autonomously.
- Managing a personal workload while adhering to departmental policies and procedures.
- Utilizing initiative to determine associated work activities.
Working Conditions

Qualifications
Essential:
- Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
- Entry on the GMC specialist register or nearing completion of CCT.
- FRCS or equivalent higher surgical qualification.
Desirable:
- FRCS in otolaryngology.
- Experience in audit and research.
- Higher qualifications in ENT surgery, teaching, or research.
Experience
Essential:
- Extensive experience in ENT management.
- Proven track record in multidisciplinary teamwork.
- Involvement in clinical audits.
Desirable:
- Specialized interest area.
- Prior NHS employment.
- Broad exposure to ENT cases across all age groups.
