Exciting Opportunity for a Senior Highway Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Highway Engineer to join our team at Carrington West. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-profile highway projects and contributing to the growth and development of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and delivery of highway projects, ensuring high standards and timely completion
  • Collaborate with senior team members and junior engineers to achieve project goals
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, providing technical guidance and ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and standards
  • Develop and implement project proposals, manage ongoing projects, and deliver results within budget
  • Represent the company at client meetings and engage with clients to understand their needs and expectations
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of junior team members' skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of experience in highway and drainage design, preferably in a UK consultancy
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Strong understanding of highway design standards and guidelines, including DMRB and local authority guidelines
  • Excellent multitasking skills with the ability to manage a portfolio of projects
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with design teams, clients, and contractors
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Chartered status or working towards chartership is welcomed but not essential
Desirable Skills:
  • Technical experience in Section 278 / 38 Highway Designs, designing residential estate roads and commercial/industrial access, ground modeling, and earthworks design
  • Liaising with planning authorities, statutory undertakers, and National Highways
  • Multidisciplinary design delivery
