About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Practitioner to join our team at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Clinical Practitioner - Personality Disorder Specialist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with personality disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients to identify specific personality traits and emotional abilities.
  • Facilitate and co-facilitate therapy groups, including Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT).
  • Act as Lead Professional for a caseload of service users with severe personality disorder, establishing and maintaining long-term supportive relationships.
  • Conduct joint home visits and initiate safeguarding alerts as clinically indicated.
  • Work with service users in individual and group sessions, managing risk and maintaining a safe and therapeutically sensitive environment.
  • Assess the needs of carers and work with them to best support the service user, where consent is given.
Requirements
  • Relevant core professional qualification and registration (Nursing, Occupational therapy, Social work, Psychology, Psychotherapy).
  • Training/knowledge of therapies relevant to Personality Disorder, MBT, and/or DBT, and application to practice.
  • Post-qualification experience in mental health, including managing a caseload under Lead Professional Care.
  • Experience of working therapeutically with people with personality disorder.
  • Experience of conducting psychologically informed assessments and compiling reports.
  • Ability and experience in risk assessment and crisis management.
