Role Summary: The position of Software Safety Assurance Lead is a vital role that will significantly influence the company's trajectory. This opportunity is well-suited for an experienced Principal Consultant or a driven professional eager to elevate their career.Key Responsibilities: The successful applicant will be tasked with performing Safety Assessments throughout the entire lifecycle of software or programmable element-intensive safety-critical systems. They will also formulate Functional Safety strategies across various domains and applications, mentor junior team members, provide technical guidance on projects, tenders, and quotations, and ensure client satisfaction to encourage repeat business. Additional duties include supporting recruitment, training, and mentoring initiatives, leading business development activities, managing accounts, and contributing to the realization of business goals. Identifying opportunities for partnerships and alliances to leverage new prospects is also a crucial aspect of this role.
Essential Experience: The ideal candidate will have extensive experience and knowledge of implementing safety standards such as IEC 61508, 62061, 61511, Def STAN 00-055, ARP 4754A, DO-178C, or DO-254. A strong understanding of systems and software engineering processes, techniques, or languages is required, along with experience in one or more of the following defence sectors: Air; Land; Sea; Ordnance, Munitions, and Explosives; Nuclear. Previous experience in consultancy and business development is essential.
Required Skills: The successful candidate should exhibit a strong customer orientation, skilled in gathering and comprehending requirements. Exceptional communication abilities, both verbal and written, are imperative. They should be organized and self-sufficient, capable of managing tasks, budgets, and shifting priorities. A positive and motivated attitude, along with the ability to lead teams and work collaboratively, is highly desirable. The capacity to apply core expertise and skills to new areas and swiftly grasp new domain regulations and requirements is also essential.
Work Environment: The role may require working from various locations, including client sites and home, with flexible travel as necessary.
