Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Years Practitioner to join our team at a reputable nursery in Crawley. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and education to young children, adhering to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory guidelines and ensuring the safety and well-being of the children at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement EYFS Guidelines: Understand and implement the EYFS statutory guidelines and nursery policies to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for children.
  • Self-Evaluation and Quality Assurance: Regularly self-evaluate your practice to maintain high standards in line with the nursery's ethos and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Engaging Play Activities: Plan and deliver engaging play activities based on children's interests and developmental needs, promoting cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
  • Positive Interactions: Ensure high-quality interaction with children, promoting positive behavior and inclusion, and building strong relationships with key children and their parents.
  • Risk Management: Carry out risk assessments and report any incidents or accidents to management, ensuring a safe environment for children and staff.
  • Administrative Tasks: Manage paperwork efficiently and contribute to nursery operations, ensuring seamless day-to-day functioning.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the team, attending meetings and undertaking regular training to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Level 2 qualification in childcare and education, Level 2 English and maths qualifications, and current safeguarding training.
  • Knowledge and Experience: Knowledge of the EYFS Framework and child development, willingness to undertake further relevant training, and experience working with children aged 0-5 years.
  • Additional Requirements: DBS check, full, clean UK driving license, and experience planning for children's individual needs using the EYFS framework.
