Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 7 Senior Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist diabetes advice and support to patients, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert diabetes care and advice to patients, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality, individualized care.
  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement diabetes care plans that meet local and national targets and standards.
  • Work closely with clinicians to implement the Diabetes Care Accreditation Programme (DCAP) within our organization.
  • Supervise and support junior staff members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent diabetes care.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to diabetes care to ensure they are aligned with best practices and national guidelines.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Significant experience as a Band 7 Senior Diabetes Specialist Nurse or equivalent.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals.Strong knowledge of diabetes care and management, including current best practices and national guidelines.Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve shared goals and objectives.
