Job Title: Team Leader for Homeless Resettlement and Support

Job Summary:

The Newham Council is seeking an experienced Team Leader to oversee the provision of services to homeless households accommodated across all forms of temporary accommodation. The successful candidate will be responsible for connecting them to support and assistance provided by local Voluntary, Community and Faith organisations, schools, Children's Centres, Health and Adult Social Care partners, as well as working to resettle them into suitable accommodation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the provision of services to homeless households accommodated across all forms of temporary accommodation.
  • Connect households to support and assistance provided by local Voluntary, Community and Faith organisations, schools, Children's Centres, Health and Adult Social Care partners.
  • Work to resettle households into suitable accommodation.
  • Lead a team of 7 Officers in undertaking a variety of duties linked to the assessment of each household's accommodation need.

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role or a strong background in social work or a related field.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including local Voluntary, Community and Faith organisations, schools, Children's Centres, Health and Adult Social Care partners.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
