Sales & Purchase Ledger Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Sales & Purchase Ledger Manager to join our Finance team at Brio Leisure. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the Sales and Purchase Ledger functions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and statutory legislation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage the processing of sales ledger transactions, ensuring timely and accurate collection of Membership Direct Debit payments.
  • Oversee the income reconciliation process, from Point of Sale to Bank statement, ensuring correct processing within the financial system.
  • Ensure sales invoices and statements are raised correctly and issued to debtors in a timely manner.
  • Support the Aged Debtor management process through engagement with monthly review meetings and query resolution.
  • Manage the processing of purchase ledger transactions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and credit notes.
  • Oversee the processing of purchase ordering system, ensuring correct approval levels are in place and adhered to.
  • Ensure the company's VAT position is reflected correctly during the processing of sales and purchase ledger transactions.
  • Manage the process of creditors payments, ensuring all creditors are paid in accordance with the company's agreed credit method and terms.
  • Support the Aged Creditor management process through engagement with monthly review meetings and query resolution.
  • Plan, prioritize, and manage the workload of the Sales and Purchase ledger area, ensuring the team has adequate resources to complete their roles in a timely manner.
  • Manage, coach, and develop Finance Assistants, through regular 1-2-1s to monitor their welfare and assist them with solving challenges as they arise.
  • Ensure all queries (internal and external) are directed to the correct member of the team through management of the Finance Team Email Inbox.
  • Proactively review departmental systems and processes, engaging in projects to improve them as necessary.
  • Ensure appropriate records are kept for the Sales and Purchase Ledger area, and that they are regularly archived when not required.
  • Support the Finance Manager and Finance Team with completing the monthly/annual accounts to agreed timelines.
  • Support the Finance Manager and Finance Team with annual audit information requests and queries as required.
  • Support the Finance Manager with ad hoc requests for the Finance function as required.
