We are seeking a dedicated professional to take charge of Clinical Engineering and Medical Equipment Library services. This role is pivotal in developing and executing strategies and policies that ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality services aligned with the organization's strategic goals.
Main Responsibilities
- Act as the primary authority for the Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards concerning the maintenance of medical devices and equipment.
- Evaluate and enhance policies and procedures to guarantee that all reusable medical devices and equipment are properly maintained, calibrated, repaired, and monitored according to CQC standards.
- Continuously review and revise the organization's Medical Devices Management Policy in accordance with recommendations from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and CQC requirements.

Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- A degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or an equivalent qualification, supported by extensive experience in specialized fields of Electronic Engineering and/or Communications.
- Registered with the HCPC as a clinical scientist in clinical engineering.
- Possession of a specialist Master’s level qualification or equivalent training.
Desirable Qualifications
- Membership in a recognized professional institution.
Experience

- Post-qualification experience with Electrical & Electronic Engineering equipment and systems.
- Specialized experience in healthcare-related systems across various medical device disciplines.
- Experience in operational management.
- Proficiency in contract negotiation.

- Postgraduate research experience.
- Experience in training junior staff within NSHCS training schemes.
Knowledge
Essential Knowledge
- In-depth knowledge of medical device systems acquired through specialized training and experience.
- Thorough understanding of physiological and medical terminology related to medical devices, along with awareness of patient and staff risks associated with these devices.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
- Comprehensive understanding of British and European safety standards, compliance, and procedural requirements for medical equipment.
- Familiarity with current statutory legislation, approved codes of practice, and relevant guidance.
