A Production Engineering Specialist with ideally 3-5 years of experience is sought for a contract role. This position is well-suited for individuals with a background in Manufacturing Engineering or Quality Engineering, particularly those with strong expertise in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA).
Hybrid working arrangements are available, with a requirement to be on-site at least 3 days per week, while some remote work is permitted.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the preparation and execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) strategies for innovative electrification and advanced power solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to initiate, support, and communicate Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) initiatives aimed at enhancing product performance.
• Develop and implement procedures and plans to ensure product quality, while assessing results to identify functional shortcomings and rectify design issues as necessary.
• Analyze production workflows to detect manufacturing and design defects, making modifications to optimize production efficiency and product quality.
• Collect and analyze feedback from internal and external sources to identify potential new products or enhancements to existing offerings that improve serviceability.
• Draft technical specifications and guidelines to guarantee product quality and performance. Monitor and manage project statuses from inception to launch.• Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions to mitigate impacts on customers.
• Conduct visits to dealers and customers to support new product introductions or address technical challenges.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and effectively communicate information to technical teams.
• Exhibit business acumen with the capability to translate actions into practical implementations across the organization.
• Proven experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and business units.
Candidate Qualifications:
• Background in product support, RCA, or RCCA engineering with in-depth knowledge.
• Experience in developing existing components or processes within manufacturing to support aftermarket services.
• Strong customer engagement skills.
• Proven problem-solving abilities demonstrated in previous roles.
• Solid technical foundation.
• Experience with complex machinery, automotive systems, or heavy goods vehicles.
• Understanding of design for manufacturing and design for assembly principles.
• Engineering degree or HND/HNC qualification.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team across different locations.
• On-site presence required for a minimum of 3 days per week, with remote work options available.
This role operates within IR35 regulations, with an umbrella pay rate of £41 per hour (FCSA Umbrella) and a PAYE rate of £30.00 per hour, contingent upon experience and qualifications.
