Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Production Planning Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing production plans to meet customer demand and optimize production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a Master Production Schedule to meet customer orders and ensure on-time delivery
- Provide short- and long-term forecasts to ensure efficient resource utilization
- Analyze production data and performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of production plans and make data-driven decisions
- Lead the Sales, Inventory, Operations, and Planning (SIOP) process to align production plans with sales forecasts and business goals
- Act as a liaison between various departments, including Production, Supply Chain, and Commercial, to coordinate and communicate changes in production schedules and priorities
- Work closely with Production to identify continuous improvement projects, opportunities for process improvements, and cost-saving initiatives within the planning function
- Ensure production plans adhere to quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the business, including stakeholders, to ensure successful implementation of production plans
- Monitor and control Work-in-Progress (WIP) and inventory levels
- Set and monitor Planning/Production Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Support the Operations Manager in meeting business objectives and developing the Production Planning function
Requirements
- Proven experience in Production Planning and SIOP in a manufacturing environment
- Previous experience working within an Aerospace Environment and Planning department is desirable
- Qualified to degree level in an associated subject or CIPM (Certified in Production and Planning or Inventory Management) is desirable
- Highly computer literate with strong skills in managing Excel databases, spreadsheets, and information management databases
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using planning and scheduling software/tools and ERP software
- An empowered and self-motivated individual with a drive to strive for continuous development both professionally and personally
