Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Roof Slater to join our team at Leeds College of Building.

Key Responsibilities
  • Practical skills in roofing and slating
  • Ability to follow technical drawings and building plans
  • Physically fit and comfortable working at heights
  • Good maths skills to work out areas, quantities, and prices
Qualifications and Training

Roof Slating & Tiling is available as an apprenticeship course. Good GCSEs are recommended for measurements and calculations. To commence the Level 3 NVQ Diploma, you must have achieved the Level 2 NVQ Diploma.

Salary and Benefits

Newly trained roofing operatives can earn £17,000+

Trained roofing operatives with some experience can earn £17,000 - £35,000

Senior roofing operatives or master roofers can earn £35,000 - £65,000

Self-employed roofing operatives set their own rates
