Plant Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Engineer to join our team at Proftech Talent. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of our plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure plant availability and reliability through proactive maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and implement plans to improve plant reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Analyze engineering-based non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular reviews of planned maintenance activities.
  • Ensure safe working practices through method statements and risk assessments.
  • Implement plant and process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Manage engineering spend and ensure sufficient spares are available to minimize downtime.
  • Engage and manage contractors to ensure high-quality work.
  • Comply with environmental and safety legislation.
  • Liaise with maintenance and operations teams to maximize opportunities during plant downtime.
  • Identify cost savings through plant improvements and energy efficiency initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Degree or HNC in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a relevant industry.
  • IOSH certification is desirable.

Technical Skills:

  • Sound understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Knowledge of machinery, including gearboxes, drives, and testing equipment.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Inventor design software.
