Exciting Opportunity for a Pharmacist

We are seeking a highly motivated and forward-thinking pharmacist to join our clinical pharmacy team at University Hospital Hairmyres, NHS Lanarkshire.

As a qualified pharmacist, you will provide high-quality patient-focused pharmaceutical care, rotating through various clinical specialties, medicines information, and dispensary. You will work as part of the clinical pharmacy team and alongside the wider multidisciplinary teams to ensure an efficient and timely supply of pharmaceutical advice and medication within a secondary care setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient-focused pharmaceutical care
  • Rotate through various clinical specialties, medicines information, and dispensary
  • Work as part of the clinical pharmacy team and alongside the wider multidisciplinary teams
  • Ensure an efficient and timely supply of pharmaceutical advice and medication

Requirements

  • Masters of Pharmacy Degree
  • Registered member of General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Independent Prescribing qualification or undertakes to complete within reasonable timescale
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Able to plan, prioritise and organise workload
  • Experience in patient information/education
  • Ability to effectively monitor patients therapeutic regimens in order to ensure effectiveness and reduce toxicity
  • Able to work under their own initiative and as part of a team
  • Commitment to revalidation as per directions of General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Self motivation
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate customer awareness/focus
  • Participation in weekends and public holiday service
  • Participation in pharmacy emergency duty
  • Willingness to contribute to the general working of the pharmacy department

Location and Working Pattern

  • This role will be based in Pharmacy within University Hospital Hairmyres.
  • The working pattern for this role will be day shifts.
