Associate / Associate Director - Town Planning

Location: Cardiff

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a driven and knowledgeable Town Planner to join their Cardiff-based planning team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious planner to take on more responsibility and play a key role in shaping major projects across the region.

The Role:

As an Associate or Associate Director, you will lead on the delivery of high-profile planning projects, providing strategic advice to clients and managing the full planning process. You will also be responsible for driving business development, managing client relationships, and mentoring junior team members, helping to shape the future direction of the planning team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Leading on complex planning applications, appeals, and development proposals across various sectors.
  2. Taking responsibility for project delivery, ensuring work is completed to a high standard and on time.
  3. Driving business development by identifying new opportunities and building client relationships.
  4. Mentoring and managing junior planners, providing guidance and support to help them grow within the team.
Requirements:
  1. A degree in Town Planning or related field.
  2. Significant experience in a planning consultancy or similar environment, including project management and client-facing roles.
  3. Proven ability to manage complex projects and work to tight deadlines.
  4. Excellent business development and client management skills.
