Job Summary
A Project Engineer with experience of leading maintenance & process improvement projects is sought by a leading manufacturing company.
Your Role
As a Project Engineer, you will lead maintenance and process optimisation projects within a busy manufacturing environment. You will work closely with the Manufacturing Director to oversee engineering projects from conception to completion, involving the design and development of key areas of plant to achieve significant and sustainable ongoing improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Fault finding, identifying, developing, and implementing modifications to the current manufacturing equipment and processes to improve production output, product quality, and equipment reliability.
- Management of projects, including time scales and budgets, to ensure successful project delivery.
- Collaboration with production and support services to identify new equipment requirements and prepare and submit tenders for new equipment, taking it through to installation and commissioning.
- Coordination and management of contractors involved in projects/tasks.
- Ensuring that plant is designed, installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with contract conditions, with appropriate records produced throughout.
- Scheduling, planning, forecasting, resourcing, and managing technical activities to ensure continuous improvements, project accuracy, and quality to completion.
Requirements
- A HNC in Engineering or a relevant field.
- Experience as a Project Engineer, preferably within maintenance and process improvement.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D design software, preferably AutoCAD and Inventor.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project or equivalent project tracking software.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams and multiple disciplines day-to-day and on key projects.
- Meet objectives and manage several projects concurrently.
