About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Coding Specialist to join our team at North Thames Genomics Laboratory Hub. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding procedures, ensuring accurate and efficient coding for healthcare services.

Main Responsibilities
  • To provide high-quality and timely coded clinical data, adhering to national clinical coding rules and conventions.
  • To work with clinical teams and other relevant personnel to ensure coding accuracy and integrity are maintained at the highest level.
  • To mentor and/or support all other clinical coding team members.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Completed Approved Clinical Coding Standards Course
  • Expert knowledge in medical terminology and anatomy and physiology
  • Experience coding in an acute hospital, covering a wide range of specialties
  • Proven ability to meet individual and team deadlines
  • Effective written and spoken communication skills

  • Completed Clinical Coding Standards Refresher Course
  • Educated to A level standard or equivalent
