We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Psychology to lead our Psychology department at Haberdashers' Girls' School. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality Psychology education at Key Stage 5, fostering a stimulating and supportive learning environment.
The Head of Psychology will oversee curriculum development, monitor student progress, and support their academic success, while collaborating with colleagues to promote the subject's growth within the school. This position requires strong leadership, excellent subject knowledge, and a commitment to inspiring students' passion for Psychology.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Psychology department
- Contribute positive leadership in the department and the school as a whole
- Combine academic and skill-based leadership with effective administration
- Inspire and motivate a team of subject specialists through passion for the subject
- Organise extra-curricular clubs and activities, and coordinate extension sessions for university-bound students
- Oversee academic monitoring, including addressing student concerns and analysing exam results
- Lead weekly departmental meetings and ensure effective communication
- Stay updated with curriculum and digital learning trends, promoting online platforms and mobile technology in teaching
- Develop and maintain a detailed curriculum tailored to each year group's needs and abilities
