Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering engaging and interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Encouraging students to explore their creativity, refine their artistic skills, and express themselves through art and design.
  • Developing and implementing creative lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and promote student growth.
  • Assessing and monitoring students' progress, providing constructive feedback to facilitate their artistic development.
  • Preparing students for exams and coursework, offering additional support where needed.
  • Establishing an inspiring and inclusive Art and Design studio environment that fosters artistic exploration and self-expression.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to enrich the art curriculum and present students' artwork in exhibitions and displays.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant teaching qualifications in Art and Design.
  • Previous experience teaching and training students in the related field at the school level.
  • A passion for art and a creative approach to teaching the subject.
  • Capability and willingness to undertake additional training and courses to enhance your professional development.
  • Ability to empathise with young people and have good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
