Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Measurement Specialist to join our team at Reed Engineering. As a key member of our inspection team, you will be responsible for creating CMM programs to inspect customer parts on dedicated inspection equipment. You will also be required to install these programs at customer sites throughout the UK and Ireland, as well as use and program other inspection equipment as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understanding and interpreting customer requirements and drawings
  • Creating measurement programs and inspection strategies
  • Visiting customer sites and operating in a customer-facing role
  • Estimating expected duration of work for quoting purposes
  • Interpreting and manipulating customer CAD models
  • Interpreting drawings in relation to international drawing standards
Requirements:
  • Expert-level understanding of the principles of metrology, including knowledge of engineering drawings, geometric tolerancing, standards, and CAD systems
  • Ability to undertake additional duties as required by line manager
  • Proficiency in company I.T. systems and software
  • Ability to provide customer technical support as required
  • Actively promoting and complying with company Health and Safety policy
  • Developing technical skills as required to improve range, flexibility, and effectiveness of duties performed
  • Working independently on own initiative, taking responsibility for work
  • Maintaining records of work carried out
Desirable Requirements:
  • Experience of designing fixtures
  • Some IT knowledge and proficiency
