Job Summary:

Gap Personnel is seeking a highly skilled Plant Quality Technician to join our client's team in a permanent role. As a key member of the manufacturing team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with quality management systems and driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to the Quality Management system (IATF16949/ISO9001) and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to prevent non-conformities.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify issues and drive improvements, and support quality-related issues with internal, supplier, and customer concerns.
  • Identify and react to non-conformances, engaging the correct escalation process as necessary, and support scrap and RFT initiatives to reduce costs.
  • Conduct first off/last off sample approvals and have a working knowledge of SPC and MSA principles, and support root cause and corrective actions for product quality issues using proven methodology.
  • Support the internal audit program, including layered process audits, product, and process audits, and have a working knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes.
  • Utilize measurement equipment, read Engineering drawings and Control Plans, and have knowledge of quality systems, gauging, and close tolerance measurement.
  • Support a robust Quarantine process and system, and assist with all necessary activities to ensure its effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a fast-paced manufacturing organization.
  • Knowledge of problem-solving ability using known methodology (i.e., 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa, etc.).
  • Knowledge of core tools (including MSA, SPC & ISIR) and GD&T principles is preferred.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of measurement methods and techniques using equipment.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances.
