As a Logistics Operations Manager, you will oversee the operational, financial, and compliance aspects of the facility. Your role will involve planning and enhancing systems and procedures to boost the operational quality and efficiency of the depot.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and mentor staff to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Facilitate training and development programs for employees within the depot.
- Enhance and sustain the depot's profitability through strategic business development and nurturing existing client relationships.
- Implement a set of KPIs and reporting mechanisms to evaluate performance.
- Manage the maintenance and testing schedules for vehicles, forklifts, and equipment.
- Oversee driver recruitment, discipline, training, and development.
- Control purchasing processes, including POs and cost management related to agency services, equipment, uniforms, and training.
- Monitor direct costs and compile relevant data within your area of responsibility.
- Demonstrated experience as a Depot Manager within the logistics industry.
- Comprehensive understanding of logistics and freight forwarding operations.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, cost management, and KPIs.
- Proven leadership capabilities with practical experience.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to make decisive commercial and operational choices.
Competitive salary range of approximately £24,000 - £28,000, commensurate with experience.
Working hours: Monday to Friday
