About the Role

Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading Power Company to recruit a Lead Mechanical Engineer for a traveling role around their UK sites.

The Lead Mechanical Engineer role comes with a starting salary of up to £75k plus a benefits package that includes 12% pension, private medical and a car for business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Asset Support & Outage Team Leader, you will work with site teams on outage, managing a scope of work and ensuring it is completed in a timely manner.
  • Managing your own scope of work, this will include working on Mechanical equipment such as Boilers, Turbines, HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generators) and associated plant.
  • Acting as the technical authority in relation to design standards, codes of practice and legislation.
  • The execution of site mechanical projects safely and within budget.
  • Developing asset management strategies.
  • Identifying areas of improvement across the plant to increase efficiency.
  • Ensure maintenance plans and targets for the team are achieved safely, on time and within budget and to the correct quality within the environmental limits of the station.
  • Directing and supervising on-site contractors.
  • Ensuring HSE compliance at all times.
Requirements
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in Mechanical maintenance or engineering in a heavy process environment.
  • Significant experience working with specific equipment including HRSG / Boiler / Welding.
  • A Safety qualification such as IOSH / NEBOSH or equivalent.

  • Organised with strong attention to detail.
