Job Title: Teaching Assistant - SEMH Specialist

Leader Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a co-education secondary school provision for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role:

  • Support students with SEMH needs in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment
  • Assist in lessons and activities, promoting student engagement and participation
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans
  • Provide patient and understanding support to students with challenging behaviour
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment

About the School:

The school caters for students aged 11-16 who are at a point of crisis in their education. They focus on personal development to ensure every student feels happy, safe, and valued in an environment that inspires them to work.

Requirements:

  • DBS on the update service or be willing to get one

  • A good knowledge of EHCPs
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Understanding of the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
