We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join our Retail Finance team at Nationwide Building Society. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Retail Function and ensuring the effective management of costs.
Key Responsibilities- Support the creation of processes to track risks and opportunities across the Retail Function.
- Work with Central Finance to feed in cost updates that support Executive Committee communications.
- Take ownership of creating new and streamlining existing reporting to adapt to the changing environment, keeping the Retail Senior Leadership Team up to date with key financial measures.
- Perform financial analysis to enable business partners to have insightful conversations with key stakeholders, driving different actions to manage costs.
- Support the adoption of our new planning, forecasting, and reporting tool to drive efficiencies across the team.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A part-qualified or qualified accounting background (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with experience working in a finance role.
- Good stakeholder management and business partnering experience, with a focus on building strong working relationships.
- An analytical mindset and the ability to analyze and present data that drives decision-making.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to build robust models that can collect and report data.
- Experience of using finance systems (such as Longview, Peoplesoft, Board) and supporting key processes such as month-end, planning, and forecasting.
- A highly motivated individual with the ability to prioritize and plan work to ensure that all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
