Electronics Systems Development Specialist

Job Summary:

G&H (Gooch & Housego) is seeking an Electronics Systems Engineer to join our Optical Systems Innovation Hub in North Wales. As an Electronics Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing new imaging and sighting systems for Aerospace & Defence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with colleagues across the business to support new commercial opportunities and operations, including product management and business development.
  • Assist in the development of electronic solutions for a range of electro-optical products using FPGA, digital, and analogue electronic hardware and software.
  • Provide electronic systems engineering inputs from concept to manufacture and test.
  • Assist with requirements capture and specification definition, sensitivity analysis, reliability analysis as required.
  • Interfacing with and managing output from sub-contractors.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to perform electronic design, analysis, and test.
  • Prepare presentations and reports to a high standard for all phases of the project.
  • Work with Business Development and Engineering teams to support new opportunities and generate solutions for customers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree level in Electrical and/or Electronics engineering, 2:1 or better.
  • Demonstrable knowledge in digital and analogue signal processing, and video processing.
  • Analogue electronics design experience.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation that supports the product development process, including product specifications, manuals, and end-user instructions.
  • Positive, flexible approach to working with a 'can-do' attitude.
  • Firmware development experience, C, (C++, C#, Python advantageous).
  • Demonstratable knowledge in digital and analogue video processing.
  • Experience of production test planning for electronics.
