About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Headteacher to lead our new school, New Options School, in Durham. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and growing the school, which will cater for pupils with a variety of needs, including Autism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide effective leadership and management of the school to ensure it meets its aims and objectives.
  • Deliver high-quality, creative learning that meets the educational needs of pupils and maximizes their achievement.
  • Ensure a safe environment that protects the welfare of pupils, staff, and other members of the school community.
  • Meet all statutory requirements and achieve the highest inspection ratings possible.
  • Lead a motivated staff group that is fully engaged in achieving excellence in all areas of school life.
  • Develop and implement growth plans to ensure the commercial success of the school.
Requirements
  • At least three years' experience as a senior leader in a mainstream or special educational needs school.
  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.
  • Willingness to extend personal and professional development.
  • Ability to lead and provide a clear vision.
  • Appreciation and understanding of the leadership and management of a school, encompassing processes contributing to pupil outcomes, staff motivation, keeping pupils safe, filling the school with pupils, managing costs, meeting regulatory requirements, and applying growth plans as appropriate.
