Role Overview:
The Technical Operations Manager will oversee the functionality of automated systems within the facility, ensuring optimal performance in line with company and integrator standards.
As a key member of the management team, you will play a vital role in shaping and executing operational strategies, guiding staff to understand and achieve the facility's objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead team performance in alignment with established KPIs and standards, ensuring maintenance tasks are executed to a high standard and within deadlines.
- Ensure the upkeep of IT systems, automated picking mechanisms, and other electronic, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
- Monitor and manage budgetary constraints within your area of responsibility, adhering to financial objectives.
- Facilitate team development by ensuring all new personnel are properly inducted and trained for their roles.
- Collaborate with training facilitators to create effective training programs.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, aligning enhancements with operational plans and ISO standards.
- Manage the escalation process for equipment breakdowns.
- Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet service levels and performance targets.
- Oversee team attendance, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Promote compliance with GDP regulations, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.
- Support and lead the engineering team and external contractors.
- Foster strong working relationships across all organizational levels and with external suppliers.
Qualifications:
- Completion of an apprenticeship or possession of an Electrical or Mechanical NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Experience in Engineering Management or a leadership role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective information dissemination.
- Demonstrated success in minimizing downtime and enhancing performance.
- Experience in contract management and maintenance reporting.
- Proficient in PC applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with WMS/CMS for management reporting.
- Understanding of basic employment law and absence management.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
- Awareness of MHRA, GDP, and ISO compliance procedures.
- Experience with compliance and regulatory audits.
This role requires flexibility to observe operations across various shifts.
