Job Summary:
Amplify Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Interactive Technical Artist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for bringing our architectural visualizations to life through the implementation of VR technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Brief Development:
- Create detailed technical briefs for projects, outlining the technical requirements and specifications.
- Design and implement efficient pipelines for data ingestion from 3D CAD packages into Unreal Engine.
- Develop and maintain clear documentation for pipelines, tools, and procedures to ensure seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Conduct research and benchmarking for proposed project features to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
- Project Execution:
- Implement technical solutions based on direction from the Project Lead and/or Art Director, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Regularly update technical brief documentation as needed to reflect changes and improvements.
- Address performance issues and refine project features to ensure optimal results.
- Performance Optimization:
- Lead performance optimization efforts across projects, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Continuously improve personal skills in AEC authoring software to enhance collaboration with external design teams and stay up-to-date with industry developments.
- Technical Project Management:
- Collaborate with the Production Lead and technical outsource teams to manage the technical aspects of projects, ensuring smooth execution and delivery.
- Draft comprehensive technical briefs for outsourced development, ensuring tools and functionality can be reused across projects.
- Take on the Production Lead role for technically complex projects, including presenting solutions to external stakeholders and ensuring successful project delivery.
- Tool and Functionality Development:
- Develop new tools and features based on client requirements and creative proposals, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Lead the design and implementation of gameplay elements, working with external developers to meet specifications and deliver high-quality results.
- Oversee the creation of tools and functionality related to pipelines, automation, optimization, and in-editor tools, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
- Team Oversight and Productization:
- Oversee functionality production to support the Digital Transformation (DT) team's productization efforts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and goals.
- Collaborate with Project Leads and Art Directors to define project architecture and maximize the use of existing functionality, driving efficiency and innovation.
- Testing, Deployment, and Support:
- Manage testing, deployment, and support for projects, both online and on-premises as required, ensuring seamless execution and delivery.
- Training and Mentorship:
- Train and support studio artists by developing technical workflows and artist tools, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver high-quality results.
- Lead regular sessions to share best practices, ensuring the team adheres to established procedures and standards, and driving continuous improvement.
- Asset Library Development:
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of the studio's asset library, including textures and shaders, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
- Wiki Management:
- Manage the technical content of the DT wiki, revising and creating guides to align with best practices, and ensuring seamless knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Develop comprehensive guides on topics such as shader creation, lighting approaches, asset optimization, AEC model conversions, FX, rigging, and animation, driving innovation and excellence.
Requirements:
- £55,000 salary
- Hybrid position with 3 days office-based per week
- Right to work in the UK
