Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct planned and reactive maintenance for various contracts.
  • Respond to emergency callouts and perform necessary remedial actions.
  • Verify assets as part of maintenance checks.
  • Install new or replacement fire alarm systems and related equipment.
  • Participate in the on-call rota for emergency situations.
  • Carry out site surveys as needed.
  • Train apprentices in fire safety practices.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor while addressing client needs.
  • Service, maintain, and install fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with relevant British Standards.
  • Complete service reports accurately.
  • Identify and report any deficiencies or deviations in systems.
  • Manage emergency lighting systems and associated equipment, including fire extinguishers.
  • Conduct regular checks on van stock and coordinate with the Engineering Technical Supervisor for inventory management.
  • Adhere to health and safety protocols, promptly reporting any risks to ensure safety for all.
  • Aim for first-time fixes whenever possible.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of British Standards BS 5839 and BS 5266.
  • FIA Level certification or equivalent.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant industry experience.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Flexible availability for a minimum of 40 hours per week, with opportunities for additional earnings through overtime and on-call duties.
  • Possession of a full UK Driving License.
  • Prior experience with analogue addressable and conventional fire alarm systems.
  • FIA training (or equivalent) in BS5839-1 Fundamentals.
  • Proficient in IT applications.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations in the workplace.

  • Competitive base salary ranging from £30,000 to £38,000 per annum for a 40-hour work week, with potential for increased earnings through overtime and additional hours.
