Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Assistant Buyer to join our team at Summer-Browning Associates, working within the defence sector. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of our organization.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for completing all buying activities, including complex orders, ensuring that demands are understood and met, and issues are dealt with promptly. Your expertise will be essential in reviewing requisitions, placing purchase orders in line with the correct route to market, and expediting orders to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and process requisitions to ensure accurate order placement and timely delivery.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless procurement processes.
  • Support the Procurement process for RFI, RFP, E-procurement, negotiation, and vendor management in relevant categories.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cost savings and improve procurement efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with public sector procurement processes, such as OJEU or PCR 2015, to ensure compliance and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Active SC clearance.
  • Proven Assistant Buying background with experience in delivering cost savings.
  • Knowledge of procurement categories and public sector procurement processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
