Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As an SEN Education Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in a school setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with SEND.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with complex needs, including those with autism, ADHD, and physical disabilities.
  • Assist with lesson planning and delivery, adapting materials to meet the needs of students with SEND.
  • Support students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, promoting positive behavior and well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to supporting students with SEND.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with students with SEND in a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEND policies and procedures, including the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Availability for at least 4 days per week, with flexibility to work occasional mornings or afternoons.
