This role involves overseeing a project in a retail environment, where you will be responsible for managing site operations and ensuring that all activities align with the project timeline and the expectations of both the company and its clients.


As a Construction Site Supervisor, your primary responsibility will be to coordinate the site team, labor, and subcontractors to ensure successful project completion. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders will be essential during your tenure.


To excel in this position, it is crucial that you possess a background in retail fit-out projects and prioritize adherence to site regulations while effectively communicating with your team.


Key Responsibilities as Temporary Construction Site Supervisor:

  • Manage all site activities, ensuring progress is monitored against the project schedule and taking corrective actions as necessary while safeguarding the company's contractual interests.
  • Prepare comprehensive handover documentation each evening for the incoming site manager.
  • Conduct regular inspections of work quality to uphold high standards and address any concerns with subcontractors and trades.
  • Maintain accurate site records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Proactively identify potential challenges that may impact project delivery and implement solutions or escalate issues as needed.
  • Develop strategies to resolve site-related issues and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the performance of direct reports and subcontracted labor, ensuring safe and effective work practices.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards, as well as company policies and legal obligations.
  • Take immediate action on any policy violations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure public safety while operating in a live construction setting.
  • Coordinate the efforts of various subcontractors to guarantee efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks to the required standards.

Qualifications and Requirements for this Role:
As a Construction Site Supervisor, it is essential to have experience in retail fit-out projects, along with the following certifications:

  • SMSTS
  • First Aid
  • PASMA
  • Fire Marshal
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • PCMP
  • CSCS
