We are seeking to hire a skilled Cost Management Specialist to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will deliver services throughout all phases of cost management projects, working collaboratively with our team, clients, and external stakeholders to prepare and present tender documentation, including:

  • Conducting feasibility studies, preliminary estimates, cost plans, and advising on the economic aspects of design during the initial stages of projects.
  • Offering guidance on whole life costing methodologies.
  • Developing high-quality tender documentation and managing pricing documentation during tender phases.
  • Performing preliminary tender analysis, creating cost breakdowns, and negotiating contract sums under supervision.
  • Overseeing all post-contract processes, preparing valuations for payments, generating financial reports, and tracking actual versus anticipated expenditures.
  • Supporting Contract Administrators in the preparation of instructions and evaluating claims for time extensions.
  • Assisting in project management activities, setting objectives, providing guidance, and advising on related matters, including issuing progress reports and conducting post-contract reviews.
  • Preparing final accounts and reaching agreements with contractors, including verifying claims and managing audit processes.
  • Identifying potential new business opportunities.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar cost management role, showcasing the ability to manage work at all project stages.
  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
  • Professional Membership of the RICS, or a commitment to achieving Chartered Status.
  • Familiarity with current Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations and knowledge of health and safety legislation, including risks associated with hazardous materials.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the capability to present findings effectively to various levels within the organization.
  • A valid CSCS card, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with BCIS Online and NBS Building is desirable.
  • Project management experience across a variety of construction projects is advantageous.
