About the Role

United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Estates Craftperson to join our Estates Operational Maintenance Team. As an Estates Craftperson, you will play a proactive part in maintaining the Trust's estates and facilities, ensuring that our buildings and equipment are safe, efficient, and compliant with legislation and good practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that maintenance activities are effectively recorded, signed, and dated appropriately and evidence-based.
  • Support and encourage multi-disciplinary working, promoting a team-focused environment.
  • Provide a role model for others, working alongside colleagues and exhibiting high standards of professional behavior.
  • Challenge traditional practice, seeking improved methods of task delivery that improve quality, safety, and working practices.
  • Carry out duties in a safe, clean, and effective manner, in accordance with Trust policies, procedures, legislative guidance, and best industry practice.
  • Maintain accurate records for reactive and planned activities.

Person Specification

  • Appropriate City and Guilds qualification, NVQ3 or equivalent in an engineering/plumbing-related discipline.
  • Served an apprenticeship or other recognized training.
  • Experience in the maintenance of mechanical and electrical plant and services and fault finding within a similar organization or similar size and complexity organization.
  • Experience of working in a similar organization or similar size and complexity organization.
  • Able to work safely and have a sound knowledge of Health and Safety legislation in the built environment.
  • Ability to evidence/demonstrate key values and behaviors in line with the Trust framework.
  • Good understanding of electrical regulations and associated safety procedures.
  • Able to diagnose faults in complicated engineering and building plant and equipment.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills.
  • Work co-operatively with colleagues.
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance.
  • Good manual dexterity, logical, and systematic approach to work tasks.
